During a family trip to the US in the early eighties the founder of Sasco was introduced to Aloe vera for the first time. It was love at first sight. The family was enchanted by the celebrated little plant and its juicy meat. Back in Sweden the family started to develop a skin care line based on Aloe vera. A year later they launched Sasco – Scandinavia’s first real Aloe vera brand. Since then, Sasco has been redeveloped and refined for more than 30 years.
In 2018 Sasco was relaunched in a 100 % vegan version. Most of our products are certified by Ecocert according to COSMOS Organic. The formulas are based on first-class organic ingredients where we combine deliciously juicy organic aloe vera with caring oils from sunflower, avocado, and canola, as well as a beneficial blend of nourishing natural extracts and vitamins. The products are fragrance-free or lightly perfumed with 100 % organic fragrances.
A distinct natural profile runs through the entire product range - from manufacturing processes and key ingredients to conceptualization and packaging design. The identity of the brand is based on local production, environmental awareness, and an experience of genuine small scale production. All products are manufactured and developed in Sweden - in our own state-of-the-art production facilities in Falun where our dedicated team lay down their souls in the production processes to ensure that each individual product keeps what it promises.
Ecocert
Ecocert is the leading certification body for cosmetics in Europe and the United States. Ecocert was established in France in 1991 by agronomists aware of the need to develop environmentally friendly agriculture and of the importance of offering recognition to those committed to this method of production. Ecocert contributed to the expansion of organic farming in the 1990s by helping to draw up French and European regulations. By winning the confidence of professionals and consumers, ECOCERT has become a benchmark in organic certification worldwide.
Consistent with its commitment to organic farming, ECOCERT has opted to put its technical expertise to use in supporting the environment, developing its own specifications for the inspection and certification of products, systems and services. For a cosmetic product to get certified according to Ecocert, the ingredients must be extracted in environmentally friendly processes and packaging has to be recyclable and environmentally friendly. No GMO, PEG, animal ingredients, silicones, parabens, phenoxyethanol, synthetic perfumes or dyes may be included.
